Braces in El Dorado, Arkansas, and Monroe, Louisiana
Braces in El Dorado, AR, and Monroe, LA are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Since they tend to be the quickest method of aligning teeth and closing gaps when compared to other treatments, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Braces don’t require the more complex technology or expensive equipment that often come along with newer treatments, meaning braces are a cost-effective orthodontic option that are well suited for most orthodontic cases.
Traditional metal braces are one of the simplest, yet most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They’re made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are affixed to the teeth, then connected by wires, and tiny rubber bands or elastics. These brackets, wires, and bands work as a system to apply gentle pressure over time, gradually moving your teeth into their desired positions as long as you have regular adjustment appointments with our doctors.
El Dorado & Monroe Invisalign
Invisalign is incredibly popular with patients and orthodontists in southern Arkansas and northern Louisiana and is the most frequently chosen alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, the Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. To keep your teeth moving in the direction you want, you’ll need to switch your invisible trays out for the next one in the series every 1-2 weeks as directed by Dr. Williams. Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout the duration of treatment. The Invisalign system only works if the recommended guidelines are carefully followed. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.
Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. A consultation with Dr. Williams at Williams Orthodontics in our El Dorado or Monroe locations will allow us to evaluate if Invisalign will be a good fit for your specific case.
